As agreed, we are back with good news about the ID. software 2.4 update. Here's how it's going:
Starting in July, the invitation process will begin – please note that due to limited service partner capacity the appointment invitations will be sent out in waves.
Who will invite me to the service campaign?
Depending on your country, you will be invited either by your importer directly or by your service partner. Regardless of who you receive the invitation from, you are free to choose your service partner when making the appointment. The invitation will also contain a link/code with further information about the software update.
Please do not proactively contact your service partner about scheduling an appointment, as we have also just started the internal communication process– so please give them time for the technical preparations before they start the invitation process.
What can I expect?
The new 12-volt battery is even more robust thanks to lower internal resistance and improved electrolyte behavior and, in conjunction with the new ID. Software 2.4, it has a longer service life.
With the ID. Software 2.4 and the optimized thermal management it includes, energy consumption can be reduced in cold outside temperatures, thus increasing the range. How? The switch-on threshold for the battery heater is lowered from 8°C to 0°C and, at the same time, gradual heating is introduced. In this way, the battery heater consumes significantly less energy on short journeys.
After the "pit stop" at the service partner, your ID. is then ready for the next big update: the ID. software 3.0 over-the-air.
