Nu mai stiu pe unde, insa cei de la BMW aveau in teste (nu stiu daca su si comercial inca ) un ESP II parca. Diferenta principala fata de sistemul clasic era ca rotile din spate puteau vira cu un unghi de 15 grade (??) astfel: pina la viteza de 50-60 km/h virau in acelasi sens ca si rotile din fata si peste in sens invers. Demostratia de la TV era foarte interesanta.

Pe cind si la VAG asa ceva ?

Pina una alta treaba cu impulsul cred ca are si minusurile ei. E cam dependenta de sofer prea mult.

The new US$510m factory will start assembling Volkswagen and Skoda cars from semi knocked-down kits next year, before moving to full production in 2009. AUTOMOTIVE POWERTRAIN ANALYST WEEKLY - NOTES FROM THE EDITOR

Wolfgang Steiger, director of powertrain operations at Volkswagen, is no hybrid enthusiast. That much was clear from a presentation he made this week at a conference in London entitled 'Cost-effective low-carbon powertrains for future vehicles', organised by the UK's Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

While conceding that hybrids had some appeal today for frequent stop-start operation in urban areas, Steiger voiced the opinion that, in the longer term, comparable reductions in fuel usage, CO2 and local pollutant emissions would be achieved through 'smarter' engine and fuel system management, without the need for electrical energy storage and powertrain input.

He envisaged what he called a 'combined combustion system' (CCS) which amounted to a convergence of gasoline and diesel engine technology, embodying some of the long-discussed principles of HCCS (homogeneous charge combustion ignition).

Crucially, such an engine would require a specially formulated fuel which, though problematic from a supply infrastructure viewpoint, was now nevertheless a feasible proposition 'chemically'. Fischer-Tropsch processing, said Steiger, offered the prospect of tailoring fuel characteristics more precisely than traditional refining techniques. Furthermore, such F-T fuel would be inherently clean, in particular sulphur-free, giving an engine a headstart on emissions reduction.
