Volkswagen's Autoeuropa unit announced it has passed the 100 thousand mark for Volkswagen Eos produced at its plant in Palmela in Portugal.

The 100,000th Volkswagen Eos color is silver, with a 150hp 2.0L petrol engine with manual transmission, black interiors, and has been exported to the United Kingdom, one of the most important markets.

The Volkswagen Eos began production in March 2006.

The EOS is exported to 58 markets. The main markets in 2007 were, North America (15,380 units, 27.7%), Germany (13,772 units, 24.8% ) and the UK (6,400 units, 11.5%).

Skoda Auto anunta oficial ca a demarat testele cu primul prototip Fabia Super 2000, o versiune pe care intentioneaza sa o lanseze in raliuri. Conceput in conformitate cu reglementarile FIA pentru categoria Super 2000, bolidul este derivat din versiunea de serie a celei de-a doua generatii Fabia. Dispune de un motor atmosferic de 2.0 litri pe benzina, in 4 cilindri, o transmisie secventiala in 6 trepte si tractiune pe toate rotile, cu 3 diferentiale mecanice.

Un oficial Sksoda a declarat ca masina va fi testata si omologata anul acesta, lanasarea efectiva in competitii fiind legata de omologarea finala si, mai ales, de rezultatele testelor. Masina va fi folosita atat de echipa de uzina, cat si de catre echipaje private, carora Skoda Auto le va oferi asistenta tehnica in regim de clienti, prin intermediul importatorilor din tarile respective.
