@Cypor poti sa pui si tu te rog o poza cu locul unde vine pompa montata pe masina ta ca in curand trebuie si eu sa fac conversia si am numai batai de cap.

Da numai ca nu e poza masinii mele, ca mi cam greu sa ma bag acum sub ea.

Pe surub are un L prelungire la pompa de forma asta cu gauri de prindere post-17896-1240928587_thumb.jpg ca sa stea la nivel cu suportul din spate.

IZO, unde ai facut pot and polish la chiulasa? E facuta duap regulile artei, sau mai mult polish?

Si lamureste-ma ca sa fiu sigur .... 2E e cel 115CP pus pe MK3 GTi, corect? Ceva modificari pe la suporti sau pica bine?

suportii sunt aceeasi, port and polish (marite porturile de admisie si evacuare, apoi polish ca suprafata sa fie cat mai lina) facut la resita dupa relugi, la fel si supapele .

se poate face si de tine daca ai biax si rabdare mare, nu e mare branza doar ca trebuie atentie :rolleyes: asta o sa fac pe chiulasa de 2E apoi un plan si luat din ea, de asemeni conversie la tacheti mecanici si axa de pe mk1 GTi 1.6 8v :blah:

design chapter is not a issue Cherry. The car needs to be a bomb, disregarding the design investment. Will look OK ... more like a sleeper idea ;)

Anyway, it seems that my money are coming in kinda' slow, so there will be important delays regarding this project.

In the end, I have more time to raise info's .... :)) but in the end, IT SHALL BE DONE !!!

(better late than never).

Gee look who speaks english..haha...yeah i understand where your coming from...and im sure it will look awesome when its done...and trust me in this day and age every1s money is tight...we do what we can for the love of VWs....and i love them all...but as ive said my heart belongs to the mk2...not going into which is better etc...they all have their ups and downs... :Driver:

considering that starting 3 days ago im also MK3 owner, only the MK1 needs to complete the VW fleet ;)

BTW ... english is my 2nd common language ;)

PSSSS : Each time I think that im decided with what I wanna do, somebody brings a better idea and all my plans are gettin' wraped up :)

Lately, Izo is the cause for this. I never considered MK3 engines as a option .... guess I was badly wrong.

In south africa mk3 2e and aba engines are the most common swaps into mk1 golfs as they are really cheap (about 250euro complete!)and they are strong motors...and the whole conversion takes a weekend if your planning on runnin it carb...if you want to go fuel injected its abit more of a mission, but there are many many possibilities with the 2e bottom end....ive used it many times on 16valve turbo conversions...works very well for a reliable 250bhp on the wheels....it all just depends wat u want to do with the car and your budget in the end after all ur the one who has to be happy with it.....just my 2cents :(

not all mk3 engines are good or reliable, look for 2E,ABA, ABF, all the 3 of them have oil squirters and forged internals, so they last a lifetime.

i've read on another forum about one hell of a project, ABF long bloc with 2E piston rods, 2 metallic ABF head gaskets to drop the compression and a big turbo, also stand alone engine management, stock abf pistons and no head work, it made 300 hp and a lot of torque.

only the 2e and abf have nice forged internals..aba's have really crappy cast cranks which cannot handle big hp just for the record... :D

Ive had a 16v turbo...i had a 9a 2l 16v with scat rods mahle 2e pistons..steel head gasket..flowed head,ae valves, t3/t4 turbo 650cc injectors..custom abf plenum intake...standalone ecu and the list goes on and on.. and it made a reliable 260hp (on the wheels) on everyday boost on 95 octane fuel ;) over 30hp(on the wheels) on high boost :P

....trust me ive worked for some of the best in south africa and we have many 400kw+ golfs there...i wish things here were a little bit more forward with regards to parts and tuning and then i might think of building one again....

well, the guy i was talking about above, used only the 2E piston rods, they are much more stronger than those on abf, but used the abf pistons :rolleyes:

anyway with these beauties you can make a nice piece of work if you know how :blah:

that is why i'm keeping the 2E bottom end with internals, and the head is from an 1.8 8v with larger valves and port and polish and a g-grind cam, just to make it old school i've kept the cis basic injection, but soon i'll change it with digifant :D (16.1l/100km is not for day by day driving >:P )
